John's introduction to dogs was brought about at age 6 through an uncle who bred and trained German Shorthaired Pointers.  He thought how remarkable it was that these dogs would instinctively work for their masters. He remembers family members telling stories of dogs they had owned and used for herding, hunting, protection, etc. These animals were respected not only for being companions but also for their working abilities.

John has studied and trained professionally in both the U.S. and Europe. He is fluent in English, Italian and Portuguese.

Having trained dogs since his early teen years, Mark caught the Schutzhund fever early in life. At just 19 years of age, he titled his Belgian Malinois to a Schutzhund III, trialing at regional level. He is also an USA certified helper.

As testament to his dedication, with just a handful of titles under his belt and a few short months of training, Mark is taking the Schutzhund field by storm, successfully competing with his new dog, Joker (owned by his good friend Brittany), winning the 2008 South Central Regional Championship and the 2008 AWDF National Championship! Also he placed 5th place at the 2008 FCI World Championship in Belgium with amazing score (100-96-94=290). Watch for more of Mark in the future as he continues his quest as he aspires to be a world level helper as well as a world level competitor!

James Stile - Age 51, Retired in Bangor, Maine. Originally from New York City. Always had dogs and fancied training and handling Rottweilers for personal protection. Karoly “Charlie” Meszaros was born in Hungary and grew up near the border of Austria.  At age 15 he began working with the military; wearing a full padded suit as a helper/decoy for the border patrol dogs.  In 1972 he made a difficult decision and, on a moonless night, faced dogs and machine-guns to cross the border to freedom.   He lived in Austria one year, then immigrated to the US; married and raised a family.

My name is Wallace Payne and I am the owner of Comprehensive Working Dogs. I have over 22 years of dog training experience which has included all working breeds. My span of training includes personal protection, schutzhund, national and international competition, AKC obedience, and pet obedience.

Myself, and my dog, Merlin von Conneforde, were the United Schutzhund Clubs of America’s 2004 and GSDCA-WDA’s 2006 National Schutzhund Champions. Both events were won with a score of 294 points and we attained a perfect score of 100 points in protection at the GSDCA-WDA National Championship. My name is Klaus Stichnoth, I’m from Germany and 39 years old. I’m married and have two children. All dog activities involve our whole family. I grew up with German Shepherds and for more than 14 years I’ve been doing active dog sports. Three years ago, I had the chance to turn my hobby into profession. I work with my dog in the plant security department for a big steelwork. I took part in the Bundessiegerprüfung six times with three different dogs, three times in Bundes-FCI championships and eleven times in Landesausscheidung.
